A Thalassemia Testing Camp was organized at the Smt. B.K.Mehta IT Centre BCA College on 27th February 2026 for the First Year BCA students with the objective of spreading awareness about thalassemia and encouraging early detection among young individuals. Total around more than 50 students participated in this camp. The camp was conducted with the support of a medical team from the RedCross Blood Bank – Ahmedabad and the cooperation of faculty members. During the program, students were first given a brief introduction about thalassemia, its causes, symptoms, and the importance of testing. The medical experts explained that identifying carriers at an early stage is important for preventing the transmission of the disorder to future generations. The event was successfully conducted with the support and guidance of the college administration and faculty members.
Current times are undoubtedly predominated by computerisation in all fields. In order to keep pace with this computer age, the Vardhman Computer Centre was started under the auspices of the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University, which runs a course for certification in computing.
