An Anti-Ragging Committee in a college is a group established to prevent and address incidents of ragging (a form of bullying or hazing) among students. Ragging can involve various forms of physical, psychological, or emotional abuse and is often directed at freshmen by senior students.

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Education Department of the Government of Gujarat and the circular from the KCG (Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat), a meeting of the staff was held at Smt. B. K. Mehta I.T. Center BCA College   under the chairmanship of the Principal to form the ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE at the college level. In this committee an employee Shri S. C. Malav has  been appointed as Co-Ordinator  of the Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) and other six employees  have been appointed as members of the ARC. Also three students have been appointed as student representatives in the ARC.

Objectives

The Committee is responsible for promoting anti-ragging activities widely, monitoring and supervising the Anti-Ragging Squad's performance, collecting complaints from students and parents/guardians, conducting counselling sessions for senior students in the classroom and for new students during admission and induction, and more.

 Every academic year, Our BCA College forms the committee. 

 Responsibilities of the Committee

1.       The Committee's duties include informing parents and new students during the orientation program that ragging and encouraging ragging within the college residence hall, and its grounds is strictly prohibited and considered a serious offense. 

2.       To stop ragging, an anti-ragging committee and squad have been established.

3.       Students who are caught engaging in or encouraging ragging will face harsh consequences under the criminal law.

4.       As a result, it is recommended that all new students who have been the targets of mistreatment contact a member of the anti-ragging committee or squad right away so that they can take the necessary action. 

5.       The committee noted that all of the anti-ragging squad members are closely monitoring the interactions between junior and senior students, and they are greatly valued for their efforts.

6.       At the time of admission, students are asked to complete anti-ragging tasks.
